A Yummy Giveaway! Ends 12/01

The holidays are coming and the wintery cold is here. What else would look cute with that chunky sweater or sleek button up than this adorable Bow Necklace! Panzell Jewelry is giving one away to a lucky raffle winner.

About the Designer: Hi, my name is Paula and I originally hail from that sweet Caribbean isle called Trinidad. I moved to New York City at the age of 12 and experienced a bit of "culture-shock" at first, but grew to love the swag and sass of NYC culture. I started making jewelry at the age of 10, it was simple things like stretch bracelets, but I grew up and so did my jewelry dreams. My elements of choice are stones, metal and wood, they're so earthy and natural. My jewelry is mostly nature-inspired, but sometimes I make something that is absolutely adorable like this Brass Bow Necklace!

DIY: Colorful Star Necklaces!

I love how everyone underestimates the potential of nailpolish. Not only does it come in several colors, it tends to stick pretty well to most surfaces, and I love using it in my crafts!
Just follow these steps to make your own!!! Wooo craftiness!

I purchased these stars from a seller off Ebay. If you don't have stars, that's ok, you can use any object that has an open center, like circles or squares, they would be cool!
Doing this is a little tough and you might end up sanding your nails. Tip: put the star between two pieces of sandpaper and rub back and forth.
Colors!!! Solid colors work the best, glitter and metallic polishes...not so much.

What can I say? Your fingers will get dirty so have fun with it!

You open the jumprings and close them, connecting the stars in a row. Like shown with the neon stars. You can make this colorful "star chain" as long as you wish!

Winter Neutral Stars on Silver

Tada! That's it, and the potential outcomes are countless. Let me know if you like my DIY tutorial.

Free Jewelry Giveaway!

Jewelry Giveaway!!!!

Hello friend, you could be the winner of this cute pair of Zebra Triangle Earrings!!!

These are a real statement on your ears. I hammered the triangular frame to make it more rigid and give it texture. Then I threw in some cool lava rock beads which fondly remind me of cocoa puffs. And to finish it off, I weaved some dalmatian jasper along the edge. Almost forgot to mention the focal element, the zebras, which are 100% tibetan silver and I love the detailed stripes on them.

"Basketball Wives" Jewelry Trend

Being part of the jewelry world, you start to see the trends, sometimes they're caused by celebrities and other times it depends on the newest item suppliers are creating. Basketball Wives, a TV series about women who are romantically associated with basketball players, has launched this new trend.

The earrings look a lot like this. I've been seeing them ALOT, :on the Brooklyn bus, in eBay stores, etsy sellers and on the street.

I personally don't like them, but I'm very glad that are popular right now because jewelry suppliers are flooding the market with items that can recreate that look. So basically the earrings consist of a large hoop, glittery beads and spikes, yum.

Most people can even venture into creating their own, isn't that dandy? With the appearance and popularity of this jewelry trend, I can see that it will encourage other jewelry trends as well. Big colorful hoops become super appealing. Spikes, which had a reputation for representing the punk community will become more mainstream as other jewelry designers incorporate it in different ways. Also big glittery ball earrings will surface as well, its about bling you know!
So far I have fully embraced the tidal wave of spike supplies. They're available in different sizes and colors, though, they're made of plastic not metal to my dismay. So far this is how I have used them.

Hope you enjoyed my post! I notice many jewelry trends on both ends of the jewelry business, creating and selling, so I thought I might share it. Hey, it would be nice to know other people notice them too, drop me line so I know I'm not alone. Ciao!

Color Trend: Peachy Pink

I'm quite sure that I'm not the only one feeling this color. With spring right around the corner, not to mention the warm weather I've been experiencing in New York , I already started to plan my Springtime attire. And this certain color is definitely on my list. I would describe it as a fleshy peach pink. It's soft and feminine, and slightly neutral but oh so pretty!

I've seen it featured in several different forms lately:

Here are some items I made in this gorgeous color!
